I would like to let you know how much I appreciate the Center for Physical Excellence. Having spent about seven of the last twelve months in therapy at CPE, I have seen how well the center operates as well as the high quality of the physical therapists, techs, and office staff.
I tier my Achilles’ tendon in November of 2012 I received therapy at a different facility for two months, which included many exercises that I have come to find out were completely inappropriate for my type of injury. In January of 2013, I met with Dr. Pifer who recommended a boot and two months of therapy at CPE. (Kay and Deb were my therapists at that time.) Surgery was recommended in March, but was delayed until June due to some other health issues. Five weeks after my Achilles’ surgery, I had a lobectomy for a surprise diagnosis of non-smoking lung cancer. I began therapy three weeks after that.
My therapist, Damon Grady, has been exceptional. Not only did he have to work with my on my Achilles’, he had to consider the recuperation I was still undergoing from the lung surgery. At times, one surgical site impeded the progress of the other, but Damon adjusted my therapy as needed. Sometimes I thought he might be getting me ready to play football for ASU (go Devils!), but each visit showed progress – slow and steady progress. I appreciate how he listened to my concerns, helped me understand that my progress might be three steps forward and one step backwards, and told me what to expect over the next year. He has been highly professional throughout my visits, and has also taught me a great deal about my foot and how the injury has impacted its movement. Damon is a true asset to CPE.
Every tech at CPE is outstanding. In all of these months, I have never seen any of them site around with nothing to do. Their energy abounds in everything they do. If there are not enough patients at a given time, they sanitize, fold towels and pillowcases, clean up and help each other with their patients. I worked mostly with Rachelle, and sometimes with Dallas, Deb O., Jeremiah, Dolce or Taylor. They are patient, caring, knowledgeable and helped to make sure that the exercises were down properly. I always felt that I was in capable hands.
Additionally, I was always greeted with a smile and a hello from the office staff. What a great way to be welcomed to the facility. My insurance benefits for physical therapy ran out during my prescribed visits, and Mindy was continually able to have the visits re-authorized. If it wasn’t for her, my visits would have ended too soon and my progress would have been seriously impeded.
I am very grateful to the entire staff at CPE.
Thank you,
Janice
