John Benninghofen PTA, CSCS, GTS
John was born and raised in the Central Valley town of Modesto, CA. Growing up, he was quite the active kid; he participated in numerous youth and organized sports programs and eventually found a passion for both skateboarding and distance running in his early teens. John briefly ran competitively while serving in the United States Army’s 101st Airborne Division. After being honorably discharged, he graduated from California State University, Stanislaus in the spring of 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. He then attended Cerritos College’s Physical Therapist Assistant Program, which he successfully completed in the summer of 2019. John obtained his PTA licensure in quick succession and, since then, has constantly been striving to further his knowledge in the physical therapy realm. Building on his experience, John most recently acquired his CSCS accreditation. He understands that every patient is unique and has different capabilities, and their treatment plan should reflect this. He particularly enjoys incorporating Graston Technique (GT) into his manual therapy with patients. Seeing improved patient outcomes stemming from a multi-faceted therapy approach is very gratifying to John, and it continues to guide his professional purpose. When John isn’t at work, he and his wife, Lindsay (a registered nurse), enjoy running and working out together, hiking, traveling, and they’ll never say no to trying out a new restaurant. While they currently have two cats, they are anxiously anticipating the arrival of a golden retriever puppy.
